Slice chicken breasts in half horizontally. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Set up a breading station with flour, beaten egg, and breadcrumbs in three separate shallow bowls.
Dredge each cutlet in flour, dip in egg, press firmly into breadcrumbs.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken 3 to 4 minutes per side until golden. Remove and set aside.
Cook pasta in salted boiling water until just under al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water before draining.
In the same skillet, pour in marinara and stir to deglaze. Simmer 2 to 3 minutes.
Add pasta to the sauce, stir well, add pasta water if needed.
Place chicken cutlets on top. Spoon sauce over each. Add mozzarella and Parmesan.
Cover and cook on low 5 to 6 minutes until cheese melts. Broil 2 minutes for extra browning if desired.
Rest 5 minutes. Garnish with basil and serve.
